Fit & Support Investigation
Your bra straps keep sliding off your shoulders. It isn't your sloping shoulders that are wrong. It's where the straps sit.
If your strap slithers down your arm the second you reach for anything, if you've caught yourself hitching it back up mid-sentence in front of colleagues, or if you've tightened every strap until it carves red grooves and they still slip, read this before you decide your shoulders are simply the wrong shape.

You've got narrow, sloping shoulders, and your bra straps won't stay on them. You're mid-meeting, mid-chat at the school gate, mid-reach for a tin on the top shelf at M&S, and there it goes, sliding down your arm. Your hand goes up to hitch it back before you've even noticed.
So you did the sensible things. You tightened the straps, bought racerbacks, tried the clear plastic clips from Boots and got measured on the high street. Every one of those should have worked, and none of them did.
Why do straps that stay put on other women slide straight off you, and what keeps them on?

The strap that slides off every time you lift your arm
It starts the moment you get dressed. You settle the straps, pull your top on, and before you've found your keys one has already crept to the edge of your shoulder.
Then it's constant. Reaching across the desk. Pushing a trolley round the shops. Waving the kids off on the school run. Every movement sends a strap sliding down your arm, and every slide means another hitch, sometimes through your top, sometimes with a finger hooked under your neckline while you pray nobody's looking.
You've stopped wearing the wide-neck tops you love. You've stopped raising your hand in meetings without pressing the strap down first. And you've half-convinced yourself that this is just what sloping shoulders get.
Why tighter straps, clips and racerbacks all let you down
Tightening the straps feels logical. It isn't. A thin strap pulled tight on a sloping shoulder just digs a deeper red line and still slides down the slope. You end up with grooves pressed into your skin and a strap off your shoulder anyway.
Racerbacks pinch at the neck and show under half your tops. Those little clips dig into your shoulder blades and pop open when you bend. A professional fitting gets your band and cup right, then hands you the same narrow, wide-set straps every other woman gets.
Every one of those fixes tries to hold a narrow strap in place harder. None of them changes where the strap sits or how it carries the weight. That's why none of them lasted.

The real cause: thin straps sitting on the outer slope
Most bras set their straps for a square shoulder. On you, that point sits out on the slope, where gravity pulls the strap downhill from the first step.
Then the back joins in. A hook-and-eye band rides up your back as you move. Every centimetre it climbs drags the straps outward, which tips them further down your shoulder. A thin strap has nothing to grip with, so off it goes.
The fix isn't a tighter strap. It's a strap set to stay on a sloping shoulder, wide enough to grip, with a back that doesn't ride up and drag it off. Get those two things right and the strap has nowhere to go.
Your shoulders aren't the problem. A strap set for someone else's shoulders is.

Meet ShapeChic: wide straps set to stay, no hooks to ride up
The ShapeChic™ Original Bra goes after both causes at once.
The straps are wide and cushioned, and set to stay on sloping shoulders. They spread the weight across your shoulder instead of slicing a line into it, so there's no groove and no slide.
There are no hooks and no clasps. It pulls on over your head like a vest. That means one wide, smooth back panel instead of a thin band that creeps up and drags your straps outward. The back stays low, flattens back rolls and holds the straps where you put them.
Add wire-free lift, full sides that gather the spill under your arms, and soft lace cups. Put it on, settle the straps once, and leave them alone.

Reach, lift, bend: the strap test it passes
Try the reach test. In an ordinary bra, stretch both arms up to a high shelf and the straps move first. In ShapeChic, the wide back panel stays put, so nothing tugs the straps outward. They stay on your shoulders.
Try the carry test. A heavy shopping bag on one shoulder usually shoves the strap underneath sideways. The cushioned width holds its place and the weight spreads out, so you don't get that sharp red dent.
Then look in the mirror side-on. The full sides gather the spill, the smooth panel flattens the rolls, and your lifted bust makes your whole top half look up to two dress sizes smaller. Shoulders back, standing taller, with nothing to fix.
Wide strap plus a back that stays low means the strap stays where you put it.

Back in the wide-neck tops you'd stopped wearing
That boat-neck top at the back of the wardrobe. The off-the-shoulder-friendly blouse you bought and never wore. They come back out, because there's no strap waiting to slide into view.
You put your hand up in the meeting without pressing your shoulder down first. You do the whole school run without a single finger hooked under your neckline. You push the trolley round the shops, lift the bags into the boot, and never once reach for a strap.
That constant, half-conscious hitch just stops, and you feel like yourself again. Shoulders back, chest lifted, back smooth, no red lines when you take it off. It isn't a bra you put up with. It's the one you forget you're wearing.

What People Are Saying
“I've got proper sloping shoulders and I honestly thought I'd be hitching straps up forever. These just stay on. First time in years I've worn my boat-neck top to work.”
“Was sceptical about no hooks, thought it'd be a faff getting on. It's not, it goes on like a vest. Back's smooth and no red marks on my shoulders.”
“Ordered the 2XL, fits lovely. The straps are wide and soft, not like the skinny ones that cut in. Arrived tracked and well packed.”
“Not a massive push-up, so if that's what you want this isn't it. But for straps staying put and no back fat showing under my t-shirt, it's brilliant. Got the black and the nude.”
“My daughter noticed before I did. She said I'd stopped doing the shoulder thing. I hadn't even realised how often I was doing it.”

Do these actually stay up on really narrow shoulders? Every bra I own slips.
@Karen mine do. Narrow and sloping here too and I've stopped pushing them up. The width makes all the difference.
Bit worried about no hooks, I've got a bad shoulder. Is it hard to get on?
@Tracey I've got a dodgy shoulder too, it's easier than reaching round for hooks honestly.
How's the sizing? I'm a 38DD normally.
Took about nine working days to come, tracked the whole way. Ordered the three-pack, one in every colour I could pick and they've been washing fine.
